Changing gears in an 88 'stang?

im getting a 5 gear 88 mustang, with a 5.0L ... i need the suggested rpms for gear shifts or even some suggestions on how to tell when the gears need to be shifted, i know how to drive a stick in theory, all the info i need is the RPMs... thanks!Changing gears in an 88 'stang?
if your racing then you would let them redline so like 8000-9000 but for everyday driving you want to keep it lower to make the gears last longer so anywhere from 4000-7000 would be goodChanging gears in an 88 'stang?
depends

theres no right time, as long as your not lugging it or redlining it

if you wanna go faster

you shifter, rpms rise higher

if your just cruising along

you shift sooner

same with an automatic

you go slower, it shifts earlier

you floor it, it shifts right before it redlines

i wouldnt do 5k

id to 4k at the most for everyday
2500 to 3000 rpm under normal conditions is about right for city driving. 4000 to 5000 is normal when your getting on it to merge into highway traffic.
i agree with strangelove i used to drive the same car and i shifted around 2500,3000 rpms and it shifted nice and smooth i found it better for the car also
