im a new driver, and sometimes i like to just keep the car 'on' but not the engine on.. just idling the car while chillin listening to music. what sucks is a few times while not thinking ive changed my gears while the engine wasnt on and my car would roll or whatever.
how bad is this for my cars transmission/gears? i hope its not bad ive made this mistake a few times... prolly 3 times.

its OK, dont worry about it. Your engine not running wont hurt the transmission.
It's not too big of a deal, since its an automatic though, you may have just scraped the shifter. If you try and avoid it in the future you shouldn't have any problems.
have no fear the gear will never fail. you should have no trouble as it's just shifting gears like it should.
Well you neglected to say what kind of transmission you have. Either way you can't possibly hurt anything. You may have shfited from park to nuetral and then it rolled. By the way - never leave a parked car in park on an incline without the parking brake on. You could damage the tranny if you do that. And it won't roll...
