Hi im a woman and my son want to know how u change gears on a motorbike?

my son has a 125 and said that he cant change his gears helpHi im a woman and my son want to know how u change gears on a motorbike?
It is somewhat complicated, you have to take the motor apart and split the cases (of the motor), this will allow you to see what is wrong, most likely the shifting fork is bent. This sometimes happens if the bike is crashed on the shift lever side, or from shifting the bike while under acceleration and not using the clutch. I hope this answers your question. It sounded like a two part question and to answer further, you can change the gears on a motorcycle by buying new sprockets and chain. You can change the front or rear sprocket or even both. Good Luck.Hi im a woman and my son want to know how u change gears on a motorbike?
one down four up...hold on for dear life
Hold the clutch on the left hand side, then place his toe under the first peg on the left hand side and kick up. To down shift its much less the same except he step down on it. but watch how it pulls the clutch and releases the gas. it should be done at the same time. to much gas, he could do a wheelie. also dont down shift to fast because he will go flying. have fun!!!
I'm guessing that you're not a rider, so perhaps you could find a friend or neighbour with some experience to spend half an hour with him to start him off right.

Alternatively, contact a riding school and make him do some basic training - it isn't expensive (compared to private medical care!) and will help put both your minds at rest!

As a rule of thumb - the procedure is the same is the same as when driving a car - dip clutch, engage gear, increase revs as you let the clutch out, find the bite, more revs pull away smoothly - or if you get it wrong jerk, stall, blush like a beetroot, or engine screaming, front wheel comes up, legs wind-milling like a drunken spider, butt cheeks clenching! LOL!

Try to get him a couple of lessons!
Well said Dingo, (Vote as best )

You son is fool to buy a bike with gears %26amp; not know how to use them.

Send him to the nearest school for riding.

You should also dis-home him for been such a nancy boy and a little fanny boy.
pull in the clutch. push the shifter (left pedal) down for first, up for second, up from second to third, etc...
