Can't change gears?

I'm driving a 1997 Geo Tracker.

When turned on, the gears won't change, even with clutch mashed all the way in. However, when turned off, the gears change fine even without mashing the clutch in.

It also does not feel like there is enough resistance on the clutch.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Can't change gears?
The Geo Tracker uses a Clutch cable so there will be NO Reservoir to check. The clutch cable is adjusted under the hood where it connects to the Trans-axle.

Your problem could be that the cable needs adjusting, the cable needs replacing or you need a clutch. Can't change gears?
u may need a new clutch, around 6-1000 dollars, but check your clutch resovoir to see if it is full, located near brake resovoir,u may just need fluid.it will take brake fluid also
could be the clutch or even the throw out bearing if it is one of these two then i hope for you that it is the throw out bearing (alot cheaper to replace befor this happened was it making a squealing noise when you used theclutch if so then it is the throw out bearing but it could just be low or out of fluid some vehicles have a seperate reservoir for fluid and some use the master cylinder for the brakes and clutch both
