Is it possible to change gears in a car without damaging the engine? if yes how?

if you mean without using the clutch in a manual yes it is possible....but highly unsuggested, It's called rev matching. after you've put it into neutral you rev the engine to try and match the rpm to the transmission then force it into gear, if done properly it can go in...but it won't be smooth. This also puts tremendous stress on parts in your drive line and is usually only used in worse case scenarios like if your driving and your clutch won't disengage, but even then you'd be better off just pulling over and calling a tow truckIs it possible to change gears in a car without damaging the engine? if yes how?
Don't shift from fourth gear to first gear on the freeway. Is it possible to change gears in a car without damaging the engine? if yes how?
I would assume that you are taliking about an automatic. If you must change gears then just let off the gas and then change gears. Just be carefull not to downshift to a low gear when you are going to fast. Downshifting will not hurt your motor it's the transmission.
Hell There are all kinds of ways to change gears ';without damaging the eng. ! most of them you should have learned when you were learning to drive ! #1 USE THE CLUTCH !

#2 DON'T GO INTO REVERSE FROM FIRST , SECOND OR THIRD GEAR ! FORWARD AND REVERSE DON'T MIX !~

#3 IF DRIVING A AUTOMATIC DON'T DRIVE IT IN OVER DRIVE IN THE CITY OR AT ANY TIME WHEN CONSTANTLY GOING UNDER 50-55 MILES PER HOUR.

#4 DON'T GO INTO REVERSE OR PARK WHEN GOING FORWARD! FORWARD AND REVERSE OR PARK DON'T MIX !
What is your question? I don't understand it at all. You have to shift gears in a car.
