Need help : How and when do you knw when to change gears when driving a manual....What's the trick to it???

Change it to higher gear when the rpm reach about 50% of the scale at the gauge (dashboard panel). Switch it down if it reach about 25%.

Later on you will relay on your feeling rather than the gauge.

I normally shift around 2500 rpms. When going around curves or making a turn, I go either 2nd or 3rd. If you've learned to shift, now it's just learning how to select your gear. The big tip is when shifting to a lower gear that puts the engine rpms over say 3500. It's hard on the engine.Need help : How and when do you knw when to change gears when driving a manual....What's the trick to it???
its all by ear just listen to your motor you will know when to shift because it will sound like its reving to high. if that don't work you want to do it from about 2500 to 3000 rpm.
