How to change gears without jolting forward...?

Hi, i'm learning to drive at the moment. Everything seems to be going fine but sometimes when i shift up the car sort of jolts forward if u know wat i mean. Sometimes when i shift up i barely feel the car doing anything (just nice and smooth) whilst other times it carries on forward a bit as i start to accelerate after coming of the clutch. Hard to explain but hopefully someone can tell me why this happens and how to avoid it.How to change gears without jolting forward...?
hey!!

i think i know what you're talking about - it could just be that you are letting go of the clutch too fast!!

when you're changing gears, after you've put the clutch to the floor be sure to just move it up in a gentle and smooth motion, if you let go of the clutch too fast it would jolt forward and/or stall!!

you'll get the hang of it soon enough, i had the same problem when i first started driving!!

hope that helped :DHow to change gears without jolting forward...?
you can type into search box how to drive a stick or manual transmission and really only one can say you give it a small amount of gas as you slowly let off til one feels it start to move where you then start adding more gas an dletting of the rest of way really its something you must learn to do but once you do it a few times you wil get it and then you will not even think about what your doing you wil just shift keep trying it will come to you
yes it's all about the timing of giving the car gas and letting off the clutch. you need to figure out how to do that with a smooth motion .. keep practicing and before you know it you'll be a pro and won't even have to think at all when you switch gears.
Ease up on the Gas while realsing the clutch.
basically like said above. Try letting out the clutch a little bit slower until you find the ';Sweetspot'; Don't ride the clutch though, that's not good.

Try lowering your revs a bit, also until you get a bit more used to it. A good shift point is about 2,500-3,000 RPM, it should allow for a much smoother shift, and better gas economy.
well before you blame your self have some one check the clutch cable and throttle linkage to make sure they are working smoothly, this can happen to any car as it may need adjustments only.Good luck
you're letting the engine revolutions drop too much between gear changes. shift faster to match the next gears rpm with the speed at the time of the shift. while shifting if rpm too low then u will get forward jerk and if rpm too high you will get rearward jerk. find the middle.
It's just a question of practice to co-ordinate your clutch release with your application of gas. Nothing to worry about, as some of your changes are smooth you're already part way there.
