I just bought a ninja 250 can some1 tell me how to start it and change gears correctly?

to start: turn on the key, pull in the clutch, press starter button to the side of the throttle. if cold you might need to turn on the choke.

shifting gears: from a stop, pull in the clutch with engine running, click the gear shift lever down for 1st gear, then click the shifter up for each gear (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th??). to down shift, press down on the shifter for each gear downward all the way back to 1st gear. to get back to neutral, click up about 1/2 way between 1st %26amp; 2nd.

edit: but yes, take the MSF course if you don't know how to ride. my answers were specifically to your question.I just bought a ninja 250 can some1 tell me how to start it and change gears correctly?
The MSF course that you will OF COURSE be taking will teach you that, as well as how to actually RIDE.I just bought a ninja 250 can some1 tell me how to start it and change gears correctly?
You are definately going to need some professional lessons before you seriously consider riding, but just so you don't look like too much of a n00b;

1. There is a fuel switch, this should be on 'on' while the bike is running and 'off' when it isn't. Fairly straightforward. Dont' ride around on 'res' as this is your reserve fuel supply to use when you run out. You may notice there is no fuel gauge.

2. There is a cutoff switch by your right thumb, this is so you can quickly turn off the bike. Obviously it needs to be on 'run' for the bike to start.

3. The specifics of the ignition (like parking lights, or steering lock) vary from bike to bike, but that should be fairly easy to work out.

4. The gear level has several positions: from lowest to highest they are 1st, neutral, 2nd, 3rd etc... So to put it into first from neutral you press down, then up to change up and down to change down. Why is it like this? Because after screwing around for 80 years, this way seemed to work best.

Now you know everything you need to know to kill yourself on a motorbike. To find out enough to ride around and stay alive, find a good riding course and do it.
If you don't know how to ride it, you should stay off of it.
