How bad is it to change gears while still moving on an automatic transmission?

I was in a rush in my 02 Accord when I accidentally switched from drive to park before the car came to a complete stop. While switching, the car made a squeaking noise for about 1 second. The car seems to be fine right now but did I do any long term damage? I've never done it before and it was a total accident cause I was rushing.How bad is it to change gears while still moving on an automatic transmission?
On an automatic transmission theres a little pin that puts your car in park inside the tranny, moving and putting it in park can break this pin and there goes your park setting, if it still works then your fine. just don't let it happen again, im sure we have all done it once.How bad is it to change gears while still moving on an automatic transmission?
just don't do it again.
you probably didn't hurt it this time,but it can strip the parking teeth off the tail shaft of the transmission if doe at a high rate of speed,for now id say you didn't do any damage to it,so don't worry about it,good luck on it.
Ive done things like this before and if it still works then it will be ok. If it did any damage to it like blow the transmission the park wouldnt work afterwards.
prolly your wheels locking up, automatics have a parking break, dont do that too often youll break that pin thats mentioned above
