Um... well I just got a magna excitor from Target, and I noticed the gears on the handlebar in arranged quite differently. The left handle bar has a 'L' and then some lines towards the bottom and then an 'H'. The right is the same 7-1. But since I have had a 1-3 left, and 17-right all my life, I can't figure which is used for what.
Can anyone help me please. I really like this bike, and I don't want to return it just cuz I can't change gears to my liking.
thank youHow to change gears on 21-speed MAgna excitor?
Return the bike and buy one from your local bike shop. Seriously. I say this because they sell better quality bikes for not that much more money. They are repairable, not disposable. And the service you get includes how to shift efficiently, brake safely, and almost always a free tune-up within the 1st year.
The left shifter moves the chain on the gears by your feet. Think of them as low, medium, and high gear ranges. The right shifter moves the chain in the rear. This changes the ease and speed of pedaling needed to move forward within each gear range. When things are steep or you want to go slow, use the low gear range. If you want some speed on only slightly hilly terrain, medium gear range is where it's at. For high speed on flat or downhill terrain, go to the high range. How to change gears on 21-speed MAgna excitor?
ugh. i hate grip shifters. well first off, the L means low gear, put it toward here for uphills. 1 on left should only be used with 1-3. 2 on left should be used with any on right except 1 or 7. adjusting your left, shifts ur front, adjusting right shifts the back.
