I heard you can import a type r to the US but you'd have to pay for registration and some other stuff. Is that true?
And I don't know how to drive standard yet so, When do you change gears? Is it when it gets to 4000 - 5000 Rpm or 7000 - 8000 RpmCan you convert a 2008 Si to a type R?
there is no 2008 type r and well yes u can import a type r but id cost a lot because the shipping is crazy and actually u cant register the car since it doesn't actually pass us crash test ratings and as for the shifting if you were racing yeah bout 8000 for a b18 type r engine but under normal driving more like 3500 id actually be cheaper to buy a civic hatch back or a integra and for you to swap out jdm parts

How much time would I shave off in the 1/4 mile if I change the gears in my 99 mustang gt from 3.27 to 3.73.?
I currently run a 13.7 @99 mph. My car is stock except for a computer chip.How much time would I shave off in the 1/4 mile if I change the gears in my 99 mustang gt from 3.27 to 3.73.?

not enough to make a difference you might knock off a second or two but the future maintenance isn't worth it look into tacking away some weight or modifying you fuel system good luck

If ur running a 13.7 in a 99 stang gt, it's definitely not stock. my 95 with some mods destroys ';stock'; 99 GTs. They run high 14s to low 15s. But, if ur cars runs a 13.7, the new gear will drop about a tenth.
I'd say 1 to 3 tenths. It trully varies.
I dropped almost .5 off my 1/4 with my gears and tlok install i went from stock 3.27 to 3.73 in my auto... The pick up on the car is great. Only thing i had to get use to is the higher rpms while cruising on the highway.

My sister has just got her provisional licence and since my car is currently being fixed (and she can't afford lessons yet) I wondered if there was a game or something online that will help her understand the clutch, changing gears and how to drive, basically. How do you change speeds on a Powerwheels jeep?

I am not sure about the older ones. Newer ones (with a shifter lever) are set to be in low speed from the factory. To be able to put it in high gear, you need to remove the high speed lockout screw, that prevents the gear shift from moving unintentionally.
Look on page 21 of this manual from the power wheels site. It will at least tell you if yours is the same as the current models.

If you have never done any work with gearing and rear ends I would not suggest attempting this. There is things that have to be just right, such as the back lash. These adjustments have to be made in thousandths of an inch and if they're off just a little you'll just be changing the gears again. It is pretty basic once you know how to do it though. Just take the cover off of the case. Jack the whole rear end of the car up. Drop the drive shaft from the rear end. If you take a look it's pretty obvious how it comes out. 78 F-150 Stalling when changing gears help?
Okay I have 1978 Ford F-150 Custom with what I believe is a 390 with an auto transmission, and when I shift from park to drive after it is already warmed up it stalls. The only way to get it to drive is to give it gas while changing the gear, which I thought would be hard on the transmission so I only did it a few times. Could anybody give me suggestions I don't know too much else about the truck so I don't know how much else I can tell you.78 F-150 Stalling when changing gears help?
Yeah most likely it is a 351m or 400, they stopped putting 390 in them in 76, but you could have a 390 or 360 if someone put it in it the only way to tell is to get the numbers off the block and check it. Also if you get an Lmc truck magazine you can look up your Vin in the front of the book and it will tell you what your motor is and everything about your truck. Also if its stalling its probably one of these 8 things,
1. Carburetor idle speed incorrectly set
2. Carb fuel filter clogged and/or water in the fuel system
3. Choke improperly adjusted or sticking
4. Distributor components damp, damage to distributor cap, rotor etc.
5.Emission system components faulty( If you have any of these)
6.Faulty or incorrect spark plug gap or damaged plug wires
7.Vacuum leak at carb, intake manifold or vacumm hoses.
8. Valve Lash Incorrectly set78 F-150 Stalling when changing gears help?
Check the timing it could be out of time and/or the car could be idled too low,you may also want to check for a vacuum leak this is also a common reason for engines to stall in such a manner,for more info you could go to a local parts store and buy a Chilton or Haynes manuel that covers you truck,if you plan on keeping the truck it would come in handy.
first its probably a 351m or 400 second try checking your egr valve how long since it was tuned up also check cap rotor listen for vacuum leaks adjust your choke check your choke pull off
