If your car is not in the correct time, it will not perform correctly. I am quite sure your transmission has nothing to do with the problem. But if he took the timing chain off, and put it back in close to original, but not quite there, it will run very poorly. You need to take it to a garage, and let them test out the timing. How did my mechanic affect my transmission/timing belt?
Might I suggest goint to a REAL mechanic next time?
The timing belt has nothing to do with the transmission. However, the problem you are discribing, having no power, can be attributed to mistiming. So, if your friend took the timing chain off and put it back on wrong then yeah, that is probably it. Get it into a shop to have the timing checked.
Also, if this is a interfernce motor, which if it is a four-banger than it probably is, you want to be really careful. If the timing so too far off you will destroy your motor.
your friend probably didn't set the timing correctly, if you didn't have a trans problem before he worked on the motor, i doubt its that. got to take the timing apart again. pain in the a........
Try throwing some tranny fluid in it, if not have a real mechanic check it out not your friend.
Use a real mechanic, not your friends to take care of your car problems. You wouldn't have a friend operate on you, would you?
well they did it cause they played u brother go to another mechanic and see
He probally put the timing belt on incorrect may be 1 tooth off or so on the timing belt sprockets
